Thanks for the tool tips. I have a small pair of pliers from Wiha. The residues do jump a bit but nothing that the industrial vacuum cleaner couldn't quickly remove. We have very little and small carpet here, and only when moving in is approaching... I already have a wire stripper like that. Although I have to say, when it comes to quickly making a LAN cable, others are faster with me.

I also have a mini side cutter from Knipex. Awesome thing! And a wire stripper from Johari. Fun too.

... and a very good tool for stripping:

This thing can do spiral cuts! (The blade can be set at an angle)
If you want to strip a cable in the middle, it's especially great!

and placed on the cable, twist once or twice, press apart again
and remove, done)

I just need to warm up again. What kind of short DAC cable (?) is that from the USG to the 16-port XG switch? I always only find 50cm as the shortest format for DACs and that looks more like 25cm. Or is the picture deceiving?

The DAC cable is really max. 25cm including the connector: Can't tell you off the top of my head whether it was included with the USG-XG or if I bought it separately. I'll have to check later when I'm on the construction site to see what it says on it.
