A really great project that is starting here. Hope that you keep the forum updated.

Best regards

To be honest, I really don’t understand why many people seem to view neighbors as something annoying/negative... I prefer having neighbors with whom you can build a good relationship and have barbecues etc., rather than living nicely in the countryside but always having to get in the car whenever I want to see someone.

Thank you. We are simply glad that it's finally starting. The retaining wall didn't have to be. The money could have been spent on other things. Let's hope that in a few years, once we've moved in, we can laugh about all these things. Here in the forum, there are currently some great projects (not only on slopes) that I am following closely. Overall, I want to express thanks and praise to the community. I will definitely stay with you.

We get along great with the neighbor and he doesn’t bother me. Unfortunately, there are enough "other" neighbors. That’s why many prefer to have open space around them rather than a potentially "bad" neighbor. I do want a bit of distance from the next house. Otherwise, everything feels so cramped and exposed.

It wasn't specifically directed at you. I just keep noticing it here in the forum. But maybe I'm not the norm there either. I grew up in a terraced house in the middle and have 4 siblings...so maybe you learn to make compromises anyway, to conduct discussions constructively, and to just let relatively unimportant things go in one ear and out the other...which is certainly not wrong when dealing with neighbors.

You are absolutely right, Yosan - a good neighborhood is an enrichment for quality of life. It's also good when you don't necessarily "catch" each other as in our current row house estate. Not that it's a problem, but some distance and privacy create a pleasant sense of privacy.
We have neighbors here today and are looking forward to the nice people in our future neighborhood, whom we have already all met and who happily celebrated the topping-out ceremony with us.
