Today was an exciting and thrilling day. More than half of all the glasses were installed.
Unfortunately, one of the glasses cracked. It was probably secured too tightly during transport. The glasses had already been with us for a long time but were shrink-wrapped. Now we’ll see how quickly we can get replacements. Ideally, we could swap them together with the remaining glasses after grinding the floor. There is also a rear pane. So, the front one must also be removed for the exchange.
The Swiss team together with the crane operator did a great job. Sometimes it was a matter of millimeters:
At midday, meatloaf sandwiches and drinks were provided for all the construction workers (glass installers, crane operator, plasterer, and elevator inspector (internal)).
A hand truck was also used downstairs for two glasses (here it is on the upper floor in case they needed it).
The heaviest pane weighed “only” 600 kg. The large ones will come after the floor is finished.
It looks quite different now
