Last year, I planned and programmed the building control for a 5 million house in a similar style. That was significantly smaller.

As the builder writes here, an envy debate is apparently effectively prevented. Because of the deep knowledge of the details, the thought never arose that someone is simply throwing around fat money and bragging about it. Despite the scale, you still get the impression that a do-it-yourselfer is at work here. Just on a different level – very likeable!

There are no proper labels for cable marking for my old labeling device (Brother). I have now ordered the Brady M611. Hopefully, work will be more fun with the new toy.

There isn't much new here.
Yesterday I started properly labeling the LAN installation cables. Today it continues.
A few cables will only be pulled when the outdoor system is done.

At least I'm almost finished with the patch cables. Had to reorder some. I had forgotten a few in my network list. Fortunately, they were in the plan...
I'm just a bit annoyed with the provider's router. You can't configure anything there.
Hopefully my TC4400 arrives next week. Then I can remove the provider's junk and fully use my router.
During the next week, I want to move the network cabinet and then reassemble everything.

At the same time, the interior construction continues. From next week, work will begin on the substructure for the ceiling.

Hello rick2018,

quite a lot of cables already ... definitely 4 x 24-port patch panels full
Do you do all of that yourself (mounting modules etc.)?

With such full cabinets, I have done it once in a kind of "trance" (super focused)
Working very very carefully saves time-consuming fault finding And if there are errors, a
Fluke DSP helps (borrow one...)

How do you implement the run between the traverse and the server cabinet? Are you getting a raised floor
or will the cabinet be moved towards the cable traverse?

In your rather "spacious" house, don’t you have problems with the cable lengths? What is
the longest run? Is it all "just" network or also for KNX or similar?

Is that Unitymedia (Vodafone) in the back? for internet and they only delivered their ConnectBox?
That would really be a stupid thing. I would refuse to use it
But aren’t there firmware problems with the TC4400 (too late and too few)?

(Sorry for the many questions, projects like these just really interest me ...)

Does everything really fit (switches, router, NAS, patch panels, distribution panel...) in your small half server cabinet?

By the way, I find it really admirable what bandwidth you show here!

Grinding concrete and labeling patch cables are quite far apart ...
