The 201Xs will go down in history as the era of fakes. A true fair-faced concrete* lover would only accept solid concrete. This is no longer common in Germany, because its heyday ended around the same time (that was approximately 1975 to 1980, when environmental awareness entered the construction world). Anyone who now wanted an interior "fair-faced concrete" with a clinker curtain facade would be best off simply taking the outer shell as a clinker wall panel. But the overlap between lovers of clinker on the one hand and raw concrete on the other is probably zero anyway. *) the prefix "fair-faced" before concrete means that the material actually used structurally can be seen on the surface – basically "WYSIWYG." And an "original fake" is naturally nonsense or only exists in the current fashion. But this should make everyone think, because according to history books decadence is a sure indicator of the downfall of a culture.

11ant put it very fittingly. Massive cast-in-place concrete is a different matter than precast parts. Here you have joints and not a continuous image. Molds used for cast-in-place concrete can also be used for precast parts. Nevertheless, a double hollow wall that is subsequently filled is not the same. Our walls are also made of concrete but are poured in several steps, have joints, and are more even (so not like cast-in-place concrete). We like this look and have spoken with the manufacturers for a long time, poured samples... Cast-in-place concrete was excluded for cost reasons and also because of the intricate window connections. This morning, already half of the walls were standing. By tomorrow, all walls in the basement level should be in place. It’s going well currently )

Cast-in-place or ready-mix concrete is another topic, you probably mean site-made concrete parts here. I mainly meant that "exposed" concrete refers to a massive cross-section, not a veneer. The latter should rather be called "facing" concrete. I am currently too lazy to leaf through: what is that "slot" just after the beginning of the retaining wall – is a gate supposed to roll into it?

Exposed concrete is primarily a visual quality level that requires appropriate execution and material mixture. Material thickness would not even occur to me. Unless one wants to engage in flimsy wordplay.

A very expensive building in our area is built entirely of concrete + insulation (some phaser stuff... no idea what it’s called) and on top huge ceramic panels with a concrete look. The facade alone is probably more expensive than our house and they have already been working on the facade for months... BUT it looks amazing!!!

We are also installing a curtain wall facade (aluminum Cubond) with a concrete look on the outside. The ceramic panels are probably Eternit. It is somewhat cheaper than other options. The package mailbox will go into the recess/corner in the retaining wall.
