I took a look at the construction at Bruder. They have two more sealing layers and that with waterproof concrete... So it shouldn't cause any problems in my lifetime. In the discussions with the roofer, we made it clear that we want a top-quality construction. That's probably why it is sealed multiple times... We only waived the more expensive insulation (with aluminum coating and better U-value).

No one has the intention to build a wall
The other day, heavy equipment was in action here again. The first part of our enclosure or retaining wall was erected.
Through a colleague of my wife, we received a tip and can now access free soil. We only pay (proportionally) for transport and installation. As soon as the wall is concreted and the rear retaining wall is also in place, we will start backfilling (approx. 2 weeks). After that, we will continue with the front enclosure.
Inside, the wall will then only have a height of max. 80 cm. We will initially bring in about 800m3. Together with topsoil, we will need roughly double the amount in total.
Currently, it is only about shaping the terrain a bit, creating paths for the equipment, and obtaining the free material.
Today the weather was unpleasant, so the roofers have stopped work until next week. Understandable and no problem.
Tomorrow the garage door is supposed to arrive. We have postponed the pool to mid-June.
Inside, the drywall and HLS installation continue. In one to two weeks, the electrician will also start working.
The pictures were taken on two different days.

Which area (roughly) is your construction again? We have a pile of soil (including topsoil) lying around here.

What is a pile? The site manager there also didn't believe us that we would take everything and still have space left. We are in BW, so too far away. Also, the soil we get is not right around the corner and costs a lot of transportation. About 100 trucks. More than half an hour of driving time doesn't make sense because then it's cheaper to buy the material directly and have it delivered. The current case is a win-win situation. If we give the starting signal (and the weather cooperates), excavation will start there and be brought directly to us. We will then install it immediately. So no multiple loading/unloading, interim storage...

About 600 cubic meters... quite a pile indeed

600m3 topsoil would be good. Unfortunately, too far away. The current material is just filler. Let's see when the time comes if we can find something.
