Congratulations on your great and unique house. It represents your thoughts and wishes and therefore has a special character. This makes it an enrichment - and I thank you for sharing. I wish you long-lasting satisfaction and a daily enriching feeling of happiness and gratitude. Ultimately, building a house, regardless of price, size, practicality, design, and location, is a project aimed at creating a suitable shell for one's own life. It seems like that has been achieved.

Currently, the roofs are being prepared for greening. As already mentioned, a different substrate is used on the garage roof because a lawn is being laid there. The remaining roofs will receive a "normal" greening. The first delivery of substrate is due today.

Please only post pictures when it is raining or really bad weather. Then I can better digest your view.

I really like how you do that!

Hi Rick, first of all congratulations on your really successful overall concept (you can tell from your answers and descriptions that you have put a lot of thought into it). One question: How did you solve the problem of smoke detectors at your place? I have already finished that part myself, but when I researched it back then, I didn’t find any really nice smoke detectors (direct 230V or 12V and KNX networking).

The smoke detectors are from Jung in wood design. They are networked wirelessly. Connection to KNX via gateway. The batteries last 10 years. If they fail earlier, there is free replacement. After 10 years, the detectors should be replaced anyway... I had the same problem as you (direct 230V + battery + KNX) and also wanted it to look nice. That’s why this solution was chosen.

Thanks for the info. The same problem is now coming up in our holiday home and I thought maybe there is something nice nowadays. But I also don't think the wood design is bad. I have to take a look at it in person.
