You don’t understand me, the Baukindergeld, which was promised with up to €90,000 taxable gross income (household gross income €115,000), is nothing but a farce. Who, please, builds a 119 sqm house with a taxable gross income of €90,000? They should have said it clearly from the start and not backtrack in the end... where is the problem in supporting the middle class with children, properly increasing child benefit instead of by €2 more... I always thought we have a problem with low birth rates, but apparently it’s cheaper to bring offspring into the country through smugglers than to create incentives.

That the Baukindergeld is not intended for couples living alone without children, who can afford a 180 sqm house because they have no additional burdens, never took parental leave, no sick notes for children, etc., is probably clear to everyone!

It’s about families, and if the average family with 2 children has built well over 120 sqm on average in the last 2 years, the limit is simply a joke, the draft law is not worth the paper.

So now make your floor plan 2 full floors and it no longer fits. In this floor plan, the wardrobe is in front of the window. Great!

At least you rave about a 16m2 children's room even though according to wofi it isn't that.

By the way, are all of those only 78 cm room doors?

Well, promises can be broken and nowhere was there any talk about living spaces. You know, I once had a girlfriend, I promised her that I would marry her if she kissed me. We even made out and I was with another woman. That's what happens when you vote red.

I definitely didn’t vote for that, I understand that promises can be broken, but you can still have an aversion to the government, and you don’t have to sugarcoat the 120 sqm; the money (our tax money, our knowledge, our work, our diligence) is there and is thrown out the window every day, as anyone with open eyes going through life can see.

I agree as well: the reference point for whether someone is in need of support is not how big the house is but how large the assets/income are. A limit on an annual income of, for example, €60,000 would be quite reasonable. Ultimately, the goal is to make the whole thing a farce. There will hardly be anyone with an income of €105,000 who then builds a 120 m² house. An exception might be the Prenzlberg families, who really cannot afford any more. It is also about the purchase of existing properties. And these are often larger.

I can understand your frustration. But it has always been the case that laws have been modified in such a way that there were losers. If the law comes out that way, then the condominium buyers will be the winners.
