Wait with the building application because of the child construction allowance

Yes, of course. Likewise, a reduction of the real estate transfer tax or the state regulations and bureaucracy driving construction costs would be much more sensible. But since when do politicians and bureaucrats care about what is sensible.

Do you earn that little; otherwise you actually get more out of the child allowance...

That requires approval from your parent council (at least in NRW)

I’m glad that private schools are still quite an exotic thing in Germany. I know friends who moved to the USA, you wouldn’t want to trade places with them; what they have to shell out every month for a halfway decent education

Yes, I do. Here, the private school with accommodation costs just over 2,000 euros per month. If my tax burden were as low as in the USA, or even just 1,000 euros less, my children would go there immediately.

Hello everyone,

I have been dealing with the topic of Baukindergeld for the past few days, but I am not very satisfied with my research results.
I am not sure if we are eligible.

In terms of income, it would definitely fit.
However, I read everywhere that the grant can only be applied for upon first purchase as a family.
From when is a family considered a family?

In our case:
In 2003, my then girlfriend and I bought half of a semi-detached house from my parents. We didn’t have any children at that time. We have been living in this half since then. We got married in 2007 and have two children.

In 2011, we bought another half of a different semi-detached house. However, this one is currently, and I hope also in the future, completely rented out.

Now it is like this: We received a great offer from a neighbor for an entire semi-detached house. As a family of four, we would now want to use this completely ourselves.

What do you think, could one apply for Baukindergeld in this constellation?

Not to forget, the daycare care fees (Hessen) will be abolished from August (from 8 am to 2 pm), but the afternoon care fees are increased, oh and the meal fee also rises every year... that’s how our community does it... but in the end I actually save something

It annoys me. Back then, we bought our first house as students with jobs and two small children, which has now become too small with five children. We have always worked like crazy, and I went back to university and work 8 weeks after giving birth, carrying the baby in a sling. Now we have to build a new house because of lack of space and don't get any construction child benefit. Instead, with our taxes, we then have to support the construction for families with good incomes who possibly have only 1-2 children. Honestly, I’m not up for that either. So once again, fairness is something else.
