Then, of course, the budget would probably be exhausted in March 2020. And in this case, the move-in would have to be postponed instead... We'll wait and see.

Honestly, I don't quite understand the calculation, but I have to admit I haven't researched the numbers in detail. Maybe someone is more familiar with the details?

My knowledge is 3 billion p.a. They talk about almost 48,000 applications with 87,000 children or about 3,000 applications per week.
That would correspond according to Adam Riese to 156,000 applications per year. On average two children, so about 310,000 children eligible for funding.
How does the calculation continue now? 310,000 x €1200 = 372 million. That would be after three years then 3 x 372 million = 1.116 billion per year. That would be below the 3 billion.
Or is it calculated like provisions? So the federal government provides 3 x 3 billion, i.e. 9 billion, divided by €12,000 (funding over the total period) equals 750,000 eligible children. With an average of two children about 375,000 possible applications.

But why would the budget then run out towards the end of the year?

Do I have a mistake in my reasoning? Can someone help me shed some light on this?

Don't understand the calculation either. Budgeted are 2.7 billion for the legislative period (until 2021) and a total of 9.8 billion until 2029.

I also tried to "inform myself" at KFW to find out if there is an annual budget, or if the pot is simply "emptied."

Conclusion: Even my contacts at KFW did not know – actually sad...

For me, it would be the same: move-in possible from August 2019. If there is an annual budget, then I would probably miss out as well.

That is why I tried to find out whether I should preferably postpone the move-in to October in case of doubt, in order to still have a chance for the Baukindergeld in 2020.

Unfortunately, all of this is quite unclear... :-(

So a move-in in Q4 would already be from the fund for 2020? .. We are building a solid house and starting in March / April... Move-in probably then Q1 2020, so move-in should ideally follow by the end of March 2020..?!

You don't know anything for sure yet, but after moving in you have three months to submit the application. So if you move in December, you can submit the application until March of the following year. Then you would probably be in pot Q1.
