Well, moving in can be easily and stress-free delayed by one or two months if a child is on the way. And "can't influence"? I wouldn't put it that way. You can't force it, and sometimes you can't prevent it either. But you can certainly make it much more likely.

Move-in: I agree with you
But you can gladly tell the other to the healthy couples who have been working towards it for 2 years or longer. Of course, there are also those who multiply like rabbits just by looking.

I don't need to ask anyone, I know that myself. And yet those (especially those who already have a child together and are still in the "right" age), for whom it doesn't work for such a long time, are by far the exception. That is not something you have to assume if you have no indication for it.

The 3-month deadline is tricky. I think that’s why they are now targeting not the income from the previous year + the year before that, but the year before that + the year even before that.
Example: Moving in February 2019 means the application must be submitted by the end of April. By then, however, the tax assessment for the previous year is not yet available. Tough luck...

Sounds to me like subsidy fraud.
Apart from that, I understand the information leaflet differently. It speaks of the first acquisition of the household, i.e., if you have already had something together, then it’s over anyway.

- True.

- Application from 01 to 12/19 means tax return 2016 & 2017

We wanted to have our second child fairly quickly after moving in anyway. Additionally, we have very good connections to the registration office, so you can sometimes delay an official registration appointment by a month or two.

We are currently in the shell construction phase of the basement. The timber frame house will arrive in October, and the finishing will be done mostly by ourselves or with friends. So I don't think December 2019 is too soon.

Of course, there is no guarantee that the second child will work out exactly then and that we will receive the subsidy, but you can give it a try.

There isn’t a fact sheet/guidelines for the Bavarian Baukindergeld yet, is there?
