What is the purpose of this decision? I just can't see what this cap achieves.
The point was to introduce a Baukindergeld without it really costing anything (or having any effect).
Now someone is supposed to shout that the Baukindergeld will be expensive. I would kick their ass .
One can really rule that out now if the media reports are true
120 sqm and the income limit and they call that Baukindergeld? ...I would say it is regulated completely off-target
Making compromises until the project is no longer recognizable. Grand coalition politics at its finest, I'd say. But that's what we wanted.
What does the CSU say about it? Seehofer would make a fool of himself in Bavaria if he lets this pass.
Well, when I spontaneously check Twitter about the Baukindergeld, no one cares about the news. It will simply get lost in the whirlpool of refugee policy.
But who builds their own house nowadays?
Nowadays I hardly believe anyone does. Even a slice of the German terraced house is bigger.
The rule would probably be based on the current average in the existing stock. If they had looked at new buildings of the last 10 years, the result would probably be different. But the political will is obviously to bury the project, so you just pick the right statistics.
Also practical for Söder, because the Bavaria thing practically dies with it. This was linked to the introduction of the nationwide Baukindergeld, right?
I consider the Baukindergeld an economic nonsense anyway, so I'm quite glad it is now becoming a damp squib (just like the great e-car subsidy that no one wants).
But personally a pity, because I had actually counted on the chance to benefit from a subsidy. Could have worked, but that's just how it is. It's all worthless as long as the ink isn't dry.
