A plan includes not only the floor plan but also the exterior views.
If you were to draw your currently planned house from the outside, you would notice yourself that the windows are so scattered across the wall that there simply is no face.
You cannot plan a floor plan independently from the rest. The stairs, chimney flue, and utility routes run through all floors just as the exterior views do.

That's true, I initially placed the windows only where it would be suitable for me inside. How would you design it if the current plan were to be kept?

In my opinion, a hallway does not need natural lighting. Especially if it is as small as yours (assuming you close off the bathroom). The hallway is for passing through – not for staying. Assuming the room doors are not always closed (as is the case with most children's rooms), enough light will come in and it will be fine during the day.

Honestly? I would completely discard the plan. In my opinion, the living-dining area requires a complete overhaul, which changes the entire layout of the house.

Where exactly are the cardinal directions? The question about the garage/carport has also not been answered so far. That also needs to be considered for the window arrangement.

Hello,

basically, the exterior should have a certain symmetry, i.e., the windows should be evenly spaced and, if applicable, aligned over the floors.

Randomly distributed windows create visual unrest.

My suggestion would be an open area for the living / dining and kitchen - it brings more airiness into the house.

The hallway on the ground floor is also very, very large compared to the rest...

I would also reconsider the staircase design - a single or double-turn staircase takes up significantly less space.

On the upper floor, I would definitely allocate the rear third of the hallway to the bathroom.

Regards,

Dirk

Hello,

please don’t be mad at me, but I have rarely seen a more modest draft…

You also don’t have to be able to draw – there are people who have learned that. Find an architect or provider you trust and discuss your room program with them. If it stays within the external dimensions of the house, you will hardly have any choice but to use the attic, if the room program in the ground floor and upper floor is not to be completely botched. What are the measurements for eaves and ridge height, roof shape and pitch? Is the entrance facing north?

By the way, the utility room on the ground floor is far too large; 10-12 sqm is completely sufficient.

Turn the horse around. You have a plot of land in mind; how much does it cost? How much budget do you plan for the actual house construction including all unforeseen costs, extras, and incidental building costs? And above all: where do you want to build?

Postscript:

Then you should extend the depth of the house body; the building footprint allows it. With appropriate planning, in the example 9.00 m x 11.50 m, a usable space of 47 sqm arises in the attic. That should be sufficient for a study for 2 people. I have attached the attic floor and an exterior view of one of our customer’s houses for you. This floor plan also works if you limit it to 11.00 m in depth.

Rhenish greetings
