I also find that an interesting read. In Bavaria, for example, the income counted is the average of years 2 & 3 before the application submission (for an application in 2018, that would be 2015 & 2016). According to the application and explanations on the application, purchase from the developer = first purchase and not new construction, and according to my understanding, the notarized contract counts here. By the way: the number of children eligible for child benefit at the time of application is relevant and will still play a role for us. If this is the blueprint for the federal government, I would find that good.

It is also interesting that inherited or gifted properties are excluded from the funding. I assume that the Baukindergeld will behave the same way!

My suspicion is that the funding guideline for the Baukindergeld is already finished as a draft and lying in the drawer at the federal level, and the Bavarian funding simply copied it.

With us, the low earners already received preferential treatment to even obtain a plot of land. Now, on top of the cheap land, there is also an additional 40,000. I am starting to feel stupid. If I had stayed at home after the first child like other people, we would have been included. Because I was so stupid to go back to work, we are out.

The higher earners simply buy the land, those with less money get the subsidy: where is the middle class???
