Which tariff is this? I always thought chemistry was better paid than metal.

In chemical companies that pay according to collective agreements, there are minimum remunerations (annual gross) starting from the 2nd year of employment. Currently, these are 64,200 euros for graduates and 74,825 euros for doctoral degree holders. In my experience, working hours are usually well above 40 hours per week.

This discussion always, as if everyone worked at IG Metall or in chemical companies. The average salary for academics is probably around 40K€, more in the West, less in the East.

Is that so? I agree neither with Knallkörper nor with you. From gut feeling, I would guess somewhere between 55-60k€.

Believe that if it comforts you

Even in the rather low-paid public service in Brandenburg, an academic in E13-3 goes home with 52k per year.
