Now I am a bit surprised. It basically says that the first acquisition as a family is entitled. Does that mean that someone who already owns a property as an individual and now acquires something together “as a family” for the first time is also entitled?

Haha, you can look at it that way too. But I don't think it really offers much consolation. This whole "drops on a hot stone" discussion is also totally incomprehensible. You have to keep in mind... you simply get a tax gift worth as much as a new Passat Comfortline without special equipment. And that out of nowhere. Who among us would have thought that there would be Baukindergeld retroactively.
