Which
It says in the Stuttgarter Zeitung:
"It is different, for example, when a young woman bought a condominium as a single and rented it out. If she later gets married, has children, and chooses a shared property with her husband, the federal government pays Baukindergeld."
Hello to everyone participating in the discussion.
I recently registered here and would like to contribute to this discussion as well.
Linking the Baukindergeld to the first purchase makes sense to me if politics wants to increase the ownership rate.
However, differentiating according to the purchase date of the property is, to me, support for a specific lobby group.
I will describe three different cases in which this injustice becomes clear.
Case 1: Family with three children, income of 50,000-60,000, purchased a self-used condominium as a family to avoid renting permanently.
Not eligible for support, because property was already acquired as a family.
Case 2: Family with two children, income of 90,000-100,000 euros, couple bought a property directly. Only afterward did they have two children.
Eligible for support, 200 euros per month, 24,000 euros over the total duration.
Case 3: Family with three children, income of 105,000-115,000, both husband and wife inherited early and own several properties. Only afterward did they have children.
Eligible for support, 300 euros per month, 36,000 euros over the total duration.
Is that encouraging ownership rates? I don't think so.
That is why it would be fairer to look at whether the family even needs a larger/ different property, rather than focusing on the time of the property purchase.
