Increase of child allowances / child benefit
Abolition of parental contributions for daycare fees
Improvement of daycare financing, increase in care quality, extension of care hours
Legal establishment of entitlement to all-day care in primary school age

Just four agreed measures of the grand coalition. I don’t find that too bad for families, if it is implemented as well. The current coalition agreement contains more family policy than in the last 15 years combined.

But this mostly benefits those who no longer want to stay at home with the children. And please, no comments on early childhood education now. In fact, children under three only benefit from external care if parental upbringing quality is poor and the quality of external care is good. I claim that this does not apply to many families. And besides, there are also many primary school students who prefer to eat lunch quietly at home and do their homework. They don’t benefit from extended after-school care hours either.

One would then have to torture statistics to find out what is more common nowadays: self-care or at least partial care by others with two working parents. Then please promote whatever the majority practices or would prefer to practice. Apart from that, from an economic perspective, it is a waste to keep well-educated mothers at home. The social funds cheer just like the treasury.

At least I am not talking about staying at home forever, but rather about reducing hours, and moreover, well-educated fathers can also reduce hours. Why do you only relate this to mothers?

Once again on the topic:

After reviewing the faction paper and the Facebook comments of the CDU/CSU faction on a specific question, I gathered that the 10 years start from the building permit or purchase contract. So, I currently have 2 children and receive €2400 annually for 10 years. If the 3rd child is expected in 2 years, I would only receive an additional €1200 for the 3rd child for 8 years.

Which also makes quite a bit of sense. Otherwise, I could stretch the funding period with a huge number of children almost until retirement.
