Wait with the building application because of the child construction allowance

Until recently, it was still said that the first property as a family was decisive, meaning the first purchase with a child.

We have a tiny condominium (bought before having children). What happens if we sell it before the building permit for our house is granted? Would we then be eligible for funding again?

No one here can answer that for you. You will probably have to call KfW and wake sleeping dogs, but if you want the Baukindergeld, you will have to sell the apartment anyway. Whether you will then still qualify despite the sale is actually the interesting question. I would definitely get the information from KfW in writing and without exclusion of liability.

Unfortunately, no one can be reached there at the moment.. I would simply gift the apartment to my parents and then have it gifted back to me. But that can't be the case..

Recently, the BMI still clearly stated: "The first-time purchase is subsidized, i.e., the purchase or new construction of owner-occupied residential property in Germany that is being subsidized for the first time with the Baukindergeld. Properties previously acquired by the (spouse) partner are disregarded."

until the end we hoped... and now we are really out.
We are a family, my husband, our 6 children together and I. We bought a house in September 2017, it was and is very tight financially, but since we had to leave a mold-infested apartment with the children and couldn’t find an apartment for years, buying the house was the only solution for us, especially as we hoped for the [Baukindergeld] amounting to 72,000 euros!!!
And now? We have been in the land register since 2018 and only moved in this year and we still live on a construction site (but better than in mold).
Are there any exceptions???

Why did you still hope? It has been fixed since May that the cutoff date is 01.01.18. This was confirmed again at the end of June.

There are no exceptions!

We had hoped because in between an article came out where the move-in date was named as the cutoff date...
