Are both listed in the land register or on the notary contract, or only one? If you bought it together, you are out; if it belongs to only one, you are probably still in. But you must also already have children? Buying first and then having children does not work.

My wife bought a 25 sqm "apartment" in a student dormitory as an investment 5 or 6 years ago, which has of course been rented to a student since then. Will this be considered residential property, so that we are no longer eligible for funding?

When the time comes, we need a fixed FAQ thread about [Baukindergeld].

It is about the first-time purchase as a family. The family concept is decisive. This means that if you have already bought/built 20 apartments and 10 houses before having children and are now buying/building for the first time with children, you are eligible. At least according to the current interpretation.

We bought a condominium in 2010 without children. Our daughter was born in April 2018, and the building permit for our new construction will probably be granted in September. We are quite certain that we are eligible.

And are you sure about that? In my opinion, if you bought/built/inherited without children before, this does not matter. Because it is about the first acquisition as a family. And family in the sense applicable here is: parents + at least 1 child.

I deleted myself. All good, you are right. However, there was still an injustice. And it went in that direction. I just don’t remember anymore.
