Last year, the deadline 01.07.2017 was mentioned several times in the CDU/CSU election program. Why is the Baukindergeld now only to be paid retroactively from 01.01.2018? This way, one loses the trust of the voters.

There are many things in the election program that are then not implemented or not implemented in that form, as agreement still has to be reached on essential points with the coalition partners. In my opinion, this petition is therefore doomed to fail.

I consider the petition to be nonsense. Essentially for two reasons. The goal of this measure is to promote building. Other instruments, such as the reduction of the real estate transfer tax or the reduction of government regulations that unnecessarily increase construction costs, would be much more sensible for this purpose. Furthermore, a retroactive payment makes even less sense, as it would then only be a windfall effect. The decision to build has already been made.

In short, I consider the instrument completely unsuitable. Nevertheless, I wish the benefit to anyone who can make use of it. God knows, much money is spent in Germany on even greater nonsense. It is similar with the Renewable Energy Act: economically completely nonsensical, yet I would, of course, also take advantage of it myself if the opportunity arose.
