Is there a possibility under the following circumstances:

- Building permit 2018
- Construction 2019 - early 2020
- Child born in the first half of 2020

to apply for/receive [Baukindergeld]?

Thank you very much.

I believe there is a lot of speculation, calculated with strange numbers that no one understands themselves and not to forget, the headline: "Baukindergeld will just run out, will probably be enough" doesn't sound very exciting either.

Again the calculation: 10 billion with on average two children is enough for almost 420,000 applications. In the three months of the previous year, almost 48,000 applications were submitted. The calculation of those who claim it will be tight was probably the 48 thousand extrapolated for the year to almost 200,000. That would not last long.
As stated in the answer, one should not forget that all those who could have applied from January to September also did so in the last three months of the year.
It will remain open. If you only start in the coming months, you can neither firmly factor in the Baukindergeld nor write it off from the beginning.

Respect, not even the child is here yet and already plans...

And no, for the application the child must be born, but if it's too tight, you could help with a C-section....

Yes, but you have to keep the following in mind: After moving in, you have three months to submit the application. It is important that the child is already born at the time of the application.

So no C-section, but maybe it's worth postponing the move-in then.

Has anyone already inquired at kfw about what applies in the following situation? Married in 2017 and not yet married in 2016? Are both incomes still added together in 2016?

Quote: How is household income defined?
The taxable household income includes the income of the applicant and additionally that of the spouse or life partner or the partner from a marriage-like community.
For the amount of income, the average of the year before last and the year before the year before last applies – for an application in 2019, this means the years 2017 and 2016.
