Hello,

thank you for the sketch. We were just thinking along similar lines and rearranging rooms, but then encountered the problem that the gable direction is fixed. That means the rooms would have to be longer and narrower or a skylight would have to be added.

I just had a really silly idea where I move the staircase to the top left, then the bathroom and bedroom; I will try that out right away. The argument about the bedroom next to the staircase did make me somewhat thoughtful..

So the path in the basement from the guest room to the WC is a small floor tour. I would also find a utility room directly next to the bedroom unfavorable. If the upper floor is to be rented out later, one should already roughly think about how the layout will be, for example, to avoid unfavorable constellations for additional electricity/water lines/meters.

Hello,

my wife is mad at me because she likes the other floor plan much better, and the architect because I am redoing everything - but he has to redraw it anyway. Maybe he’ll come up with something intelligent about it. Still, here is a new version that I quite like and that moves the bedroom away from the stairs. Unfortunately, I don’t have space here for cleaning supplies and beverage crates, which were marked as the utility room in the other floor plan. The window onto the terrace is also gone, and I had already mentally planned a small aviary for the bird there. But at least I can stumble drunkenly from the terrace into bed... The criticism about the house tour for guests is also gone. The rest of the house and exterior views would need to be redesigned too, but that’s supposed to be the architect’s job... he gets paid enough for it.

What do you think about the ground floor? Better than the other one? It’s 3 sqm larger, but that should be manageable...

I thought the wall by the garage couldn't have windows? Now it can?
