Apart from the fact that the whole topic of Baukindergeld is on shaky ground because of the asylum issue, I found further additional information on the internet:

- The date, i.e. 01.01.2018, will not be changed.
- The SPD also wants to include restrictions regarding the purchase price and the size of the property to save budget, which the CDU/CSU does not want.
- Only existing children will be subsidized, meaning that after the application is submitted, you can have as many children as you want; there will be no more Baukindergeld.
- It still applies that if a couple has bought/built a house after 01.01.2018 and no children existed before the application, then there will be no Baukindergeld. Even if children come later or are currently planned, that does not count.
- Payment is made after moving in and submitting the registration certificate.

Couples who have already built their house are presumably left out, right? Or can the application also be made proportionally for 10-x years. What about common-law marriages, which income is taken as the basis?
