Fortunately, the architect defines what a utility room is within the scope of the WoFIV and submits it along with the input planning and building description to the building authority. If the approval is granted through the exemption procedure, nobody will make a fuss.

I understand trying to cheat 138 sqm down to 120 sqm won’t work. But if it comes to 140 sqm, then it might. I don’t think Scholz will prevail. There is currently too much headwind. They also thought that with the World Cup and the asylum issue, it would quietly go through without protest.

There will have to be a compromise, either:
- more money
- shorter duration
- shorter program if the budget runs out
- lower income limit. As already mentioned, it’s only about the zvE.
- cap at 140 sqm
- etc.

We bought our house last year. Therefore, we do not qualify for this subsidy anyway (which we do regret, as the grant for 2 children would have suited us very well), but we would have actually met the requirements (even the newest one with a maximum of 120m2, as we only have 100). Due to the full basement and outbuildings, we have more than enough space. I’m just curious how they imagine this... what happens if you have one child at first, but actually want three, which then can unexpectedly quickly become four (multiple births), where do the ridiculously small children's rooms (10m2 more per child) come from, and so on. And here, practically no one builds with under 130m3, usually it’s 140-150, and old buildings are often larger as well, but on tiny plots because those are the price drivers. Our house is more of an exception there. Little living space with a large plot. I also think the income limit should be set so that support reaches up to the middle class and there are no other restrictions. But then it gets too expensive, they noticed^^.

I have no problem falling through the cracks because of a lower income limit, but I do with a sqm restriction. As if you just wipe your mouth and move on. Man, I have been angry since yesterday.

By the way, to return to the initial question... if we wanted to build or buy right now, we would probably have waited. Because the plans are now quite concrete and the funding is definitely attractive, we think. We would not have wanted to do without it.

I can't do it! We have 2 children want 3 children. So no chance at all. Not even re-planning is possible!

Sorry, in this thread those with a healthy dose of schadenfreude were pitied who submitted the building application in 2017 and now the big self-pity begins? Calm down.. [Baukindergeld] is supposed to alleviate the housing shortage in cities, so the square meter limit makes sense.
