But why was the funding for renovations also cut?
At the end of December, I submitted the building application to renovate a house built in 1914 from coal heating to an efficiency house monument with renewable energy. Of course, I haven’t applied for anything yet because the energy consultant said that would be sufficient before the start of construction and if there are any delays, one could possibly save provision interest.
So, now there are two options. 1. Hope that renovation funding returns to how it was before or 2. redesign for gas heating and save yourself the nonsense with insulating plaster, etc. Either way, the renovation will be delayed by at least 3-4 months.

This "disproportion" is much more likely due to the fact that the market for renovation-worthy old properties is simply swept clean. Most of the people I know would have much rather bought as well. But it is simply a shortage.
That is why I maintain that even the single grandmother in the unrenovated 160 sqm house with the oil heating system from 1990 should be put under a bit more pressure, either to renovate or to consider selling, so that the renovation-willing young family can move in at all. It cannot be that even higher requirements for KfW40 builders are around the corner while grandma happily continues to heat.

It was not cut, but only temporarily stopped until the new funding programs are in place. The reason is that the number of approved projects already significantly exceeds the financial volume. The question is how quickly the responsible ministries can agree on the new programs.

Building Energy Act is KfW 70. You won't notice a significant difference up to 55. Although the step often only exists on paper.

Yep. The step from KfW 70 to 55 is not big.

Why else should you renovate if I don't get a return for a high investment? We are not in socialism.

Since the funding so far only ended in the REPAYMENT grant, every homeowner paid for and financed the price of the 55 house. They just had to repay less. So 55 is definitely affordable – whether you want to spend the € more is another question.

Didn't you mention in some posts "this wouldn't have happened under Altmaier"? So, who messed up demands and subsidies in recent years to such an extent that the discrepancy of 24,200 to 700 arose? Although 20 billion per year was wasted, the grandmother happily heating was clearly not motivated.
