Beautiful... my dear 40 neighbors can look directly into my living room and onto the balcony/terrace, all the noises couples make might come right through the walls to my ears, if Fiffy barks all day next door I enjoy it, and my car, which I need to earn my living, is parked 400m away in a shared parking garage... I’m happy to store my few things like my bike or other hobbies in my 6sqm basement compartment...

So who doesn’t want to spend a few hundred thousand here? Incomprehensible

That’s why I asked the question about the target group, which the image film did not answer for me. For some people it would certainly be an improvement of their living conditions. As an alternative to single-family homes, the residential complex is probably not intended.

I once lived for a semester in a small settlement from the 1920s that was cooperatively run. Garden city principle, three stories, with three apartments per floor. Between most rows of houses there was no street, but the communal area with small gardens and squares. In each house there was a laundry room in the basement with spaces for washing machines and a huge drying room, where each apartment had a lockable drying rack heated by district heating. The attics were the storage rooms with the tenants' storage compartments. Young singles, families, and seniors lived in the houses. In summer, people sat outside. The children could play outside or do a bit of gardening. That was sometimes a bit annoying at night when a group opened their 10th bottle of wine there, but in terms of quality of life, it was among the best I have ever experienced. When allocating the apartments, care was taken to ensure that the residents continued to be a mix of all age groups, etc. Such a thing works, but it's just not suitable for maximum profit and for people who prefer to have little contact with others.

Sorry, how do you actually come up with the idea that society must somehow gift you €80,000 out of tax money? For your own KfW40+ house with two funding-compatible residential units?

And if the "little guy" is playing in financial regions where he can get burned, then he is naturally first and foremost responsible himself. And if he can't manage it, he has to stand up for it and bear the consequences.

It's only fair to all those who do not engage in shaky constructs to avoid financially endangering their families. No risk, no fun – but that inevitably also includes the option of shipwreck. Although you probably don't have to do anything more than refinance accordingly. What did the bank salesperson say about that? With the granny flat, you might be able to realize correspondingly higher rent on the market...

You're not a city kid, are you? People will fight over every apartment offered there – and that with still manageable purchase prices starting at €7,000 per sqm and new build rents around €20/sqm or subsidized apartments at €13/sqm. But the district is green, no longer designed for individual traffic. This is the urban development future. A neighborhood for a cross section of society with short distances and good infrastructure (electromobility, daycare, retail, gastronomy). No comparison to a single-family house with 1,000 sqm. But that was not the point of the example, but rather sustainability and ecology.

80 sqm for a small family of three for 560,000 euros is really manageable? That definitely contributes to gentrification, sorry
