I agree with you, and I think you know that too. But I really feel sorry for the people here. I am glad that we are "only" renovating and not facing new construction at the current time.

Just asking stupidly: so far the general contractor hasn't even gotten in touch yet, would you really go to the press already? I think I wouldn't want to wake any sleeping dogs. Therefore, instead of the press, I would rather have contacted consumer protection.

I assume that most GCs haven't realized that yet. Back then, a clause was written in because it was supposed to be that way, and then they forgot about it. But I firmly believe that this will spread in the next few weeks, on TV or not

Well folks, what does "not understood" and "sleeping dogs" mean - that was not a right of withdrawal but a "resolutive condition". The contracts in question have expired! I would definitely not just sit this out now but start drafting a plan B!

Building Code § 158
(2) If a legal transaction is made under a resolutive condition, the effect of the legal transaction ends when the condition occurs; at that time, the previous legal situation is reinstated.

First of all: The problem lies in the individual situation of each person. Accordingly, only legal advice and clarification of one's own situation and weighing of the chances of success remain. I consider a class action lawsuit like Dieselgate to be out of the question here.

We will seek legal advice on this matter shortly and then weigh the cost/benefit risk. As people who seek harmony, this whole situation is already unpleasant enough for us, but we agree not to let ourselves be trampled on.

Since stopping the project is only an option when we have given the proverbial last shirt, we will not give up prematurely on any of the fronts (Corona, war, shortage of raw materials, funding, etc.) where the fight is still ongoing.

I consider it, to put it mildly, inappropriate to compare the discontinuation of public funding (even if unannounced) to "kicking it to the ground." Put your energy and money into planning and construction rather than a lawyer and a hopeless legal battle. ...and please reflect on your approach to planning once again. Of course, you can wait until the preferred general contractor has time, but that comes with risks (interest rate increase, loss of funding, price increase) that have unfortunately now occurred in your case. So playing the victim here is not appropriate, if we're being honest...
