I know how hard it is. But as a food for thought, my 2 cents in case nothing gets approved! For my new build, as part of the funding measures for my 265m2 bunker with a granny flat, I received about 75k in funding. Sounds insanely much, but the costs for the energy consultant, controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery (2x), photovoltaic system with battery storage, ground insulation, concrete slab on foam glass to minimize thermal bridges, brine geothermal heat pump, most expensive Velux windows and and and. Without funding, it would never have paid off and without power, except for photovoltaic, very little of it makes sense. We have gotten into an abnormal funding frenzy that caused prices and profit margins of companies to rise. Yes, maybe without controlled residential ventilation you’ll have to air out the bathroom windows in the morning once in a while. And maybe heating costs are 20€ higher per month. But none of that is remotely proportional, and I would have never built like this without KFW. Expensive technology also carries expensive follow-up costs. It sucks, but if necessary, plan around it a little. Above all: Don’t let anyone drive you crazy!!!

That's how I read it too. I had already written that Habeck is probably aiming for a hardship regulation for the outstanding 55ers. But if I read it today, 1-2 family houses would now also be included. However, I don't really see any backtracking.

On the other hand, I do not understand the government's estimates.
- The additional costs for promoting renovations and KfW-40 houses alone are estimated by the government at 1.6 billion euros -> That is around 400 T per application (with around 4000 renovation & KFW-40 applications)!
- According to Habeck, funding requests totaling 7.2 billion euros had been received before the stop, about which no decision has yet been made. -> That means around 300 T per application (with 24,000 applications)!

The subsidy or loan is much lower than these figures! Am I overlooking something or are their calculations wrong?

You overlook that most applications were not submitted by private builders, but for example by municipalities or developers for larger projects such as apartment buildings. Each application involves significant sums.

Exactly as already written. Funding was/is provided per housing unit. With residential complexes, that quickly adds up. I think the single-family house is still a minor player here.

Hello everyone,

I have only followed the developments on the sidelines. We are going to renovate a single-family house (planned to be about KfW85), but we are still at the beginning of the planning phase, i.e. we are still far from submitting applications. At the moment, I’m not really stressing, precisely because we have nothing urgent to decide/sign. I also strongly assume that a program will be launched again in the short to medium term for the renovation (it must be, because of climate targets etc.). We have an energy consultant on board, whom I haven’t spoken to since the announcement of the funding stop for the above reasons and because he is probably currently overwhelmed with inquiries. Our general contractor has done the measurements and is currently drawing up plans.

However, I do have a slight guilty conscience or fear of messing something up out of negligence... From your point of view, is there a need to put pressure on any of the parties involved?

Thanks and regards
schwalbe
