One possibility would have been to communicate the limited duration of the funding more clearly. With the wallbox subsidy, multiple newspaper articles popped up on my phone saying that the funds would soon be exhausted. And that despite the fact that I don't have an electric car ;). So no one was really surprised.
Another possibility would have been to split it into several pots: one for 55, one for 40, one for renovations. This way, builders of 40-standard houses wouldn't have been dragged down into the abyss by the rush to the 55 subsidy.

I see it the same way, there could have been many more possibilities than to do it like this and actually drive people into ruin!

€80,000 + ~€30,000 price increase + all the funds already flowed, these are sums you can’t just save briefly on the selection or by switching to 55 or or or... That is absolutely impossible one would say.

It simply affects too few to create such a big fuss in public as there was in January. However, our Minister of Economic Affairs deserved more than a second slap in the face on the same topic. I so wish I knew how to create more reach to be able to place such a failure more in the public eye...

The public is likely to have little ear for it given the overall situation.

If it is indeed the case that there was a drafting aid from the ministry for the suspensive condition, which was formulated in such a way that the contracts are now void (and could have been formulated differently), then that is really a serious matter :(

A serious issue is that Munich, for example, only has just under 3,000 subsidized apartments left, while Stuttgart has, for example, nearly 30,000. This is an emergency. When families of four live in two-room apartments. And yes, of course it is a disaster for the affected prospective builders not to be able to build anymore, but the number of those affected is dwarfed by an immensely larger number of people affected who also do not benefit if some apartments become free through single-family house construction. Very few builders move out of affordable apartments. It was political failure to abandon and sell off social housing. Look up the keyword Bayernheim. It is heartbreaking.

And yes, there must also be sensible solutions for the promotion of single-family houses, even if it is only changes in the tax burdens, fees, and charges on owner-occupied properties. The middle class cannot withstand unlimited pressure either. But that this area of issues is not at the very top of the political "it's burning" priority list right now should be understandable.
