I find it pretty harsh what is being assumed about most builders and future builders. In my circle of friends and family, everyone wants to build and it is impossible because it is just so expensive! On top of that, I live in Hamburg. But even if you drive half an hour out of here, it is still very expensive.
Simply saying that anyone who relies on the KFW subsidy has calculated too narrowly and is out of luck, I find quite extreme. Many people have the dream of owning their own property and work their asses off for it.

The Commerzbank offered to take over the financing at a higher interest rate. Of course, the grant will no longer apply!

I don't think the new construction subsidy will come back. It is simply unnecessary (and extremely high), they are optimizing the last 3% there. With renovation, much more can be achieved with the money if you want to save emissions in the building sector.

Such subsidies must, in my opinion, be tied to income and assets. It cannot be that families with several hundred thousand annual income receive government support.

Everyone sees things as they fit into their own worldview, myself included. Why should high earners not receive government support in return for the fact that these high earners also pay considerably more taxes. But as I said, everyone sees it differently and that is okay.
