Maybe it's just me ...

This disrespectful behavior annoys me. Nowadays, it hardly matters where you look - the same behavior everywhere. Whether in traffic, in conversations, or here in the forum; take your pick. It almost seems as if many people have completely lost their sense of wrongdoing.

That adds to it.

Rhenish greetings

Maybe I should get out again and not just sit in the apartment.

Should I now shift to refugee policy... no, I won't, otherwise you'll give me a hard time.

Ok, let's end the discussion here. Maybe I believe in the good in people too often, until it is disproved.
However, a certain caution and skepticism at the beginning is not wrong either.

Residential units are rooms within a closed context intended for permanent residential purposes in residential buildings, which enable the running of a household (room, kitchen/kitchenette, and bathroom/WC).

Yes, but there are several things to consider in terms of planning, execution, and cost. Interior doors do not count as residential unit doors, etc. Either you need 2 apartment doors that open to the outside or a corridor that is not assigned to either of the "apartments."

2 circuits That means 2 complete electrical panels, with meters ... (and numerous circuits)

Since the funding authority can and may inspect the actual situation, the living situation to be created when there are 2 residential units is not really "livable."

So, the 5000 repayment subsidy is already lost just due to the additional costs. And the 10-15,000 EUR that you could save over e.g. 30 years might also definitely be lost for the 2 residential units solution.

Additionally, the buildable plots are restricted. In many newer development plans, the number of residential units is specified.

Tox wrote it above after all: this is the 3rd or 4th post of this kind, where a builder desperately thinks about how to snag 2 x KFW. That there are requirements to be met when creating housing units is a different matter. And I can understand Martina. Solidarity thinking breaks down everywhere when people sense their own advantages.

In the private sector, there are so-called subsidy consultants. For example, there is a multitude of EU funding pots, but how an entrepreneur gets access to them requires specialists, and to "structure" the investments so that they are funded. Completely legitimate.

Of course, the OP and many others also had $$$ in their eyes when they created this thread. Like many others, he thought he was making a good deal. Just as some only decide on higher energy standards because there is supposedly something better for the same money, or because the repayment grant and other subsidies outweigh the additional costs.

True solidarity has always been a high and "expensive" good; I don't believe that many have ever been different when it comes to their own wallet.

Man, I really stirred something up there.
It was ultimately not meant to imply that I want to "grab" the double funding at all costs.

I probably should have written "apply for" instead, but people immediately assume the worst.

I had read through the KfW funding information and came across the term "Wohneinheiten".
What interested me most in the end was what I have to consider in my building planning in order to ultimately build two stories.

Now I know that for my project, to eventually live completely downstairs and rent out upstairs, I can and must preplan the energy supply. But building two independent living units today is out of the question for me.

Therefore, I will stick to applying for funding for my future KfW55 house.

Thank you very much for the interesting posts.

Best regards
