Most of us work hard enough for it, pay more than enough taxes/social security contributions, and just want to offer their children a nice, safe home with access to nature and some freedoms (for example the possibility to practice playing piano or violin).

Almost the end for the little homeowner. Sad, also considering that in other European countries, which are supposedly not as rich as Germany, the homeownership rate is significantly higher. Besides, not everyone wants to live with a ventilation system with heat recovery.

In my opinion, not the problem of the applicants. But we probably have different opinions on that. I hope that lawyers deal with this issue, then we will at least have "legal certainty".

Yes, that was foreseeable. It's always the same whenever a subsidy expires.

You can also fulfill the dream without subsidies – but then with the right political framework conditions. I consider "subsidies" more sensible for real estate transfer tax and the like. The KfW subsidy ends up 1:1 with the construction company. I know the calculations... And I also know calculations that manage with €1,800 per sqm – that is then subsidized housing where it actually works. Also in KfW 55. The whole subsidy system or subsidies need to be revised. Distributed according to need. Those who have money are gladly subsidized even more...
