But it could also be that the supply side changes. The capacity limit mainly refers to the workforce. Material was somewhat scarce over the past two years, but that is likely to change again soon. Currently, labor in Germany still faces an admission problem. However, if the lobby exerts strong pressure (and it will), then possibly the master craftsman requirement and other regulations will be dropped again. The regulations on the use of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled personnel from non-EU countries will be simplified or abolished entirely, and then there might be another boost.
I just hope that this does not have too great an impact on quality.
I have to say that the Balkan-origin workers I hired myself have on average performed with more honor than the others, almost exclusively German-origin craftsmen, of my [GÜ]. Even the heating/plumbing guy I had highly praised and personally selected has now made a big mistake, or rather noticed it himself. In the ground floor bathroom, hot and cold water were swapped... Now he had to cut open the supply line in the floor of the utility room and re-press it. This involved removing tiles, opening up the screed (passing by insulation and heating coils), and closing it up again. The tiles are still missing at that spot.
By now, I’m of the opinion that if I had built my entire house with these people, I would already be sitting inside it.
