What is nonsense about that? First of all, I believe you define the Munich area very generously. And regardless of that, it is a huge difference whether I build there or, for example, in Thuringia.
And the down-calculation of some salaries is simply absurd. Then working hours are deliberately reduced (and less income tax paid) to fall under the limit and receive money from the state.
Then there is also the gamble that parental leave just happens to be timed correctly...

If the first euro earned above the limit has an effective marginal tax rate of 3,800,000%, people naturally become creative. The rules are obviously absolute nonsense, it was a stupid election gift without much sense.

Could do, since we moved in recently.
And of course, we had saved up €200k equity beforehand, it wouldn’t have worked with just a loan.
And the plot was already bought a few years ago for €750/sqm at the time.
So yes, you are right, the way we built it, it wouldn’t be possible anymore now, we would probably have had to skip the basement and the double garage.
It hasn’t gotten any easier...
And we also got the KfW subsidy....

The greater Munich area can probably be claimed at floor prices above €1000/sqm.
Of course, it is significantly more expensive in Munich itself, that’s clear. But you can hardly speak of a subsidy for structurally weak regions...

Yes, this is what the neediness looks like that conservative politicians have in mind when they talk about supporting families.

Yes, that was intentionally provocative. But with 1000€/m2, you surely didn't start without a good portion of equity, right?
