KfW BEG funding stopped 261, 262, 263, 264, 461, 463, 464

On the topic of Baukindergeld:

That was really pointless like nothing else. Either 100% or nothing at all. Then these weird application deadlines with the previous year and the year before that. Back then we didn't have a child yet and accordingly more income, now less income but there's no funding for that.

Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes unlucky. We even had our child half a year after submitting the application and still received the Baukindergeld. We also earned really well in the year before the application, but: my wife had only worked for two years at that point because she had been studying before. That really pulled our taxable income down nicely.

Personally, I think the funding is great for our purposes. We deliberately decided against a new build and bought a very young existing apartment, for which there would normally have been no funding at all. With Baukindergeld from the federal and state governments and the Bavarian home ownership grant, we received a total of 25,000 euros in funding.

I can say the same about the subsidies for KfW 55 buildings: Was this subsidy even sensible?

Personally, I find it a shame that usually only new buildings are eligible for such subsidies and that those who buy an existing property, specifically an apartment in this case, get the short end of the stick.

It was said that most of the funds are applied for housing construction and that the KfW40 standard is difficult to achieve for large residential buildings, so I assume that the KfW40 subsidy is mainly used for private single-family and two-family houses. Of the 24,000 open applications, only about 3-4,000 were probably for single-family/two-family houses or renovation. Of those, only a small part was for the 40 standard.

I am still curious how high the subsidy for KfW40EE will be. Since I definitely want a controlled residential ventilation system regardless of the standard, that would be a good support :)

About the Baukindergeld: I don’t know what kind of high earners are here, but in our family we have a couple where one is a doctor and the other is a part-time teacher, and even with 2 children the taxable income was still below 105,000€. From the gross income, for example, a five-figure amount is still deducted for special expenses, as well as childcare costs. So I’ve actually thought until now that doctors don’t need to be gifted 30,000€, but apparently others earn significantly more...

Good point! That makes me look to the future somewhat more optimistically. But it's clear that it will decrease. I hope they don't take forever. The interest rate development worries me.
