What do you think, how are such figures transmitted from the KfW to the ministry? During a change of government? And how long then does such a decision-making process with impact assessment take?
You could, if in your opinion it was known so precisely, better point to Lindner, who "only" loosened 6 billion more to cushion the flood. Why didn’t he transfer 40 billion right away?

Beware of generalizations. The vast majority of the population probably couldn't care less about this decision. ;)

The entire process is a formidable steaming pile of political crap. The communication after the announcement even more so. But reflexively screaming "that was Habek, he hates single-family houses!" is simply factually incorrect. It also doesn't help the situation that most prospective builders are already gasping for air due to inflation and rising construction costs.

I don’t have the table here at work... but for me it should be around €3,500, of which the entry of the mortgage (400k) alone is almost €2,000. That’s exactly what I find simply outrageous. You can still argue legal advice for the purchase contract, but the mortgage is essentially just stamped once and that’s it.

I think you underestimate some people here. Whether out of ignorance of the actual savings, or as a status symbol (“we only built the best”), I am convinced that quite a few would still build to a higher standard.
Of course, this is always also a question of the house and the builder involved. Some houses can be relatively easily upgraded to a higher standard, others not. Some companies calculate the higher standard according to actual costs, some like to milk the customer (I looked out of interest once again, Schwörerhaus back then wanted nearly 18k from us just to upgrade the wall from 55 to 40, perimeter insulation of course provided by the builder). Some only offer one wall, Weberhaus, for example, had only the EH40 wall and no thinner one for EH55.

Even parents and grandparents of the affected young families won’t be too thrilled that overnight their children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s home financing was wrecked. Of course, this has wider implications and makes one think about how reliable this government is, especially the Greens.
The solar panel provider won’t be too happy either that cancellations and delays of uncertain duration are now pouring in. Photovoltaics without a house are rather impractical. ;)

Have you ever critically questioned these 20 billion euros? Here one must distinguish between loan volume and subsidies. Please calculate yourself how many houses would have to be built to "squander" 20 billion. The government throws out a figure and everyone is amazed without doing a cross-check.
