A frequently mentioned phrase, but on the contrary, in many countries I experience exactly the opposite, namely that people rather speak of our country with envy or great respect. Whether that is justified remains to be seen, but I do not know any people who live in another country and laugh at us, and I know quite a few people abroad. Sometimes we like to convince ourselves of that, probably to feel worse. That’s exactly how it is. People complain but stay, and those who actually run off to their dream country are back after a few weeks. I can only recommend it to everyone as a life experience to live abroad, although sometimes abroad can already feel like another federal state. Somehow there is often a kind of hope for salvation… if I lived there, if I had that… and exactly that is not true. Always lying on the beach and sipping those sweet cocktails can be quite annoying. Such thinking is pure wishful thinking. yep, that is exactly what such a forum is for, so that diverse existing knowledge can be passed on. Unfortunately, often know-it-all attitudes prevail…

Isn't it the case that the entire funding program had a budget anyway? Then they could have accepted all applications for another week and then issued rejections with the reason that the funds are exhausted. Then no one would have been allowed to complain. That's actually no different now. This procedure is generally completely normal and legitimate. A current example of this is the e-charging stations. I was also left empty-handed when the funds suddenly ran out and I now have to pay for the unit entirely myself.
I even have the next wave of outrage lined up. Those who now order a new car sometimes wait up to 12 months or even longer. It’s only a matter of time before this absurd subsidy of up to €7,500 is cut or adjusted. Especially for these cheating hybrids. So anyone who orders today and cannot register the car will be left empty-handed in a few months. Because they will have to pay the money out of their own pocket.

This has already been described here. Germany is simply a bad basis for comparison in this regard. Isn’t it the case that, in some countries, there are huge tax advantages that make people almost never want to pay off their own home completely and instead continuously extend their loan? I think I read something about that once.

The car lobby will know how to prevent that...

I believe very few people with an income of more than 100,000k.
Furthermore, existing houses are ultimately not cheaper in our city, at least if you can get your hands on one at all. So if you happen to get a plot of land, you build in any case.
And most of those for whom all this is an option probably build because they absolutely cannot find any (let alone affordable) apartment with, say, 5 rooms and a small piece of garden. Quite a few families in our area have been searching for this for a very long time. Not everyone builds huge or with any expensive frills (I actually don't know anyone).
But sure, tough luck, because you simply did not deserve to have a home of your own if you can only just afford it. That sounds more than elitist.

Of course, all those people would also benefit from the Baukindergeld or similar subsidy schemes, but those just do not exist at the moment.

I would also be really annoyed

We are having a townhouse built with a small plot for 800k and an income well over 100,000 euros. Am I now a freeloader because I use the subsidy? We also have to stretch ourselves extremely for it... question to the complainers.

You are not. Counter question out of interest: Would you have built without the subsidy or does its removal throw you off?
