What does big windows mean? They can have the frame extensions made (or have them made); I wouldn’t let myself be fobbed off with plastic. On the outside, we still have a facade (Betoniotik made of AluCubond) added. Inside, partly exposed concrete, partly also covered or painted covered. I bought the concrete grinding machine from Hilti to play around a bit, but it should still retain character and not be completely uniform. Ceilings probably wood/acoustic ceilings. It’s not finally decided yet.

"Big" means in this case, about 2.5 x 2.5m. I have also been using a diamond grinding disc, but for our taste that removes too much material. Then I "refinished" all walls and ceilings with an orbital sander, which took a long time. But it was worth it, the sinter layer is not completely off. We are first checking the acoustics here, actually want to keep the concrete ceiling, but if we don't get it under control, we will probably have to install an acoustic ceiling.

At your place, the windows are mounted on the outside of the wall and thus exemplary within the insulation layer. At , it looks like the windows are (as usual) mounted on the floor and between the walls, and the ETICS will then extend somewhat over the frame to ensure proper insulation.

Did I understand that correctly? I think the windows mounted from the outside are the optimum in terms of insulation, but probably much more expensive, right?

With us, the ventilated (rear-ventilated) facade is added on top. The expensive part of our windows is the frameless system, the sizes, and the security. Although our house is also bigger, compared to "normal" windows, you can expect a factor of 10-20. But it is a comparison between apples and oranges... But you have already correctly recognized that with us the windows are optimally positioned in the insulation and sealing layer.

Exactly the point I mean. You rarely see that and it suggests that it is very expensive.
