have storage, is great. Subsidy through new construction kfw40+, has already paid off double by the subsidy alone. 13k the system, 30k subsidy. this month produced 574.5 kwh and consumed 521.16 kwh. of which 63% self-produced electricity. In other words, only 194 kwh purchased and only 250 kwh fed in.

Please break that down so that the OP understands how you arrived at the subsidy amount and whether you installed the system on your roof yourself or how big your system is, because the investment amount for the system and the subsidy amount are unusual for a single residential unit.

Yes, a bit of half-truth to make it look great. Probably a 5kWp system with a 5 kWh storage. Funding for KFW40+ with a granny flat. The effort to first achieve KFW40 should not be overlooked. And how does one manage to consume 520 kWh in May in a modern KFW40 house?

well if here storage is flatly categorized as unprofitable and electricity costs from storage are 38 cents per kWh, then I am also allowed to be happy. basically a stalemate.

Yes, 40+, yes two residential units. But a standard would have been a very good 55er, the effort there was marginal. we wanted a basement anyway, the extra exit and the extra front door for half the basement came at no extra cost. the system cost 13 before taxes (I get that back...) and is 5.4 kWp with a storage with 6 kWh usable capacity.

we have 300W base load. a bit of building technology, SBS fridge, extra freezer - stuff like that. that puts us at 230 kWh per month just for that. then a lot of baking, bathing and washing happens. that adds up. heating is off, hot water is made twice daily. every 10 days legionella program, that runs via the heating element and really costs a lot.

You can save yourself that, who recommends such a thing to you?
There are no legionella in new single-family homes, there are many studies on that.
Running the program 2-3 times a year is okay, but almost every week?
Somehow the consumption is still high.. We also have quite a bit of stuff, cook every day, small children who bathe and shower daily, computer, TV.. but this month we are at about 300 kWh, and heating was still running at the beginning of May because it was 0°C at night.

Of course you are allowed. Only with a standard DC/AC installation the price of 38 cents is not inflated.

- You have feed-in losses in the battery
- Even when discharging the battery
- The battery also consumes electricity
- And in winter the battery is never full
- And whether batteries even last longer than 10 years is questionable.

I don’t want to say the system is small, because it was individually planned. Normally the roof is fully packed (up to 9.9 kWp) and the battery sized accordingly. That costs around €25k before tax.

On the other hand, not everyone has a single-family home with 2 residential units where the subsidy can be used twice or lives in BW.

The main thing is you are satisfied.
