Floor plan optimization city villa + fill consideration

Yes, it's just difficult to assess. I have been to show homes. But they always go overboard with the windows there. We don't like having windows at our back. Can what we planned objectively be TOO dark? In the meantime, we had considered making the patio doors a 3m element, but since I want a 3.6m couch, part of the 3m element would be blocked by the sofa and I didn't want it to look somehow badly planned or like a wrong sofa choice.

If you already know approximately how wide your couch should be, I would also adjust the windows accordingly. We did it that way too. I think it looks strange if the last part of the sofa is in front of the window. Whether it is TOO dark is difficult to say now. Of course, light also comes from the west side; to what extent it still reaches the seating area is hard to say. Ideally, an additional window in the east would be best for you.

So it's 9.7m in length. I don't know how many meters the west window covers?

Attached is an example from the current apartment. It is bright enough here. On the left side of the plan is west, on the right side east.
The windows are only opposite each other as a difference compared to the house, the total window dimensions are quite similar in comparison.
Can I take this as a reference point or not, because the windows are opposite each other in the apartment?

Make the two 1m windows in the living room into 2m windows. That will do your very important symmetry with the upper floor good, bring enough brightness, and whether the sofa is in front of a 1m or 2m window doesn’t matter either. I would also make them all openable. Even if you don’t use it currently, maybe in 20 years it will look completely different and the sofa will face the window because TVs like today simply won’t exist anymore ...
