I look at floor plans in catalogs. If a staircase leads straight up from the entrance, sometimes there is no window and no air space on the upper floor. Where does the light in the hallway on the upper floor come from? From the corridor below?

Lamps? Double casement windows? Skylight? Daylight spots? We cannot know that as long as the plan and the roof are not known.

Then go ahead and join them, behind Schnuckline https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/endlich-bauen-und-doch-noch-ein-paar-fragen.24022/ https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/schnuckline-baut-ein-schnuckeliges-Haus-Grundriss.24046/ https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/teil-2-schnuckline-baut-ein-schnuckeliges-Haus.24075/ and Ev-Marie86 https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/Doppelhaushälfte-grundrisscheck.24329/ https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/grundrissvorschlaege-was-geht-was-fällt-durch.24394/ (because you hopefully did not seriously think that you – apart from the already mentioned StanSch – were the only princess here endlessly and eternally nagging about her floor plan). I hope for the sake of my heart rhythm that you don’t now get the crazy idea that something would be easier with a single-flight straight staircase. You wouldn’t even need to look for floor plans under 12 m edge length then – single-flight straight staircases are – like a symmetry dogma, but at least these two ghosts only weakly add up – a space gobbler par excellence.

Uh yes, actually. Take a look at the floor plan Stadtvilla Signus from Kern-Haus. But I want to modify it a bit. It is designed for 146 sqm, so it also fits for a few sqm more. Take a look at it. It has a nice layout.

Uh no. Even without increasing its depth by 1.5 m (to reach your old format), it wastes so much space in the hallway that ’s sewing machine and ’s piano have to be put in there so it doesn’t look empty. At least the cheapest downpipe location is in the utility room.
