The window on the right is flexible... maybe better to put the shower there. The bathtub maybe where the bed is... if that works.

But maybe the idea with the straight staircase is better, because then everything upstairs can stay as it is.

In the end, it was important for us to have some storage space in the staircase. That's how it currently is in our apartment.

We just didn’t want to go straight upstairs at the front because of dirt. If you turn the staircase around, you have the door at the front, which maybe isn’t ideal either.

Basically, I like the floor plan, the kitchen with the door is clear. I might also want to move the fireplace. But I really like the bedroom with the walk-in closet. I just don’t like these very small kids’ rooms, but I do like the staircase.

This staircase is what we currently have in the apartment.

This is how it would look for me (but I don't place much value on the bathtub)

I have now arranged the bathroom roughly to scale ... (Visio instead of PowerPoint). A slight angled positioning of the bathtub and only the window by the shower needs to be moved by about 20 cm.

Your apartment is not too shabby either. You’re really downsizing quite a bit, aren’t you?
