I think at some point you reach a stage where you like the floor plan and it really only comes down to centimeters, or window sizes, etc.

Or at least decimeters, as you can see with your own sofa-piano dilemma. However, I already feel too much Déjà-vu here with your thread ;-( Seriously: I can already smell the drywall around the water installation on the horizon – the window hassle is already being sung about, although not concerning roof windows here.

I can also advise you, instead of adding or subtracting cm somewhere, first think about what is important to you – Where do you spend most of your time, which room is most important to you? Do you want a view of greenery from the sofa or is it enough for you from the dining table? These are things you cannot influence later. Then you might have your 4.5m distance to the TV, but that doesn’t increase the quality of the living space. I also think in model home parks you might get a different perspective on spatial effect.
