There is nothing left to cut off. All rooms are minimized. Either you add something or you leave out the office. But you should slowly see and know that yourself, because all the options have already been there.

The only option I see with you is to sacrifice a small wardrobe niche from the guest room. The passage to the office would then have to be either open or with a sliding door. Only a desk and a small dresser for documents will fit here. You can forget about a guest bed. The entrance door would, of course, have to open to the other side.

How wide is the hallway again? Can't we do something with the wall next to the [Kuschel Ecke]? If no cupboard fits, at least a lot of hooks can go there, right? And a shoe rack isn't deep. And if the space under the stairs becomes accessible from the kitchen, then you can put a cupboard against the stairs.

1. No one uses a shoe rack. They are left where they took off their shoes. 2. You urgently need storage space, not just for clothes, shoes, etc. 3. An office/guest room is a luxury that I just don't see in your house or that simply cannot be realized. 4. You will love your house and prefer to spend your home office days in the living/dining area rather than in a relatively small office.

Our office is 3.8 x 3.2m. On one side you can easily place the couch and even pull it out, on the other side there are cabinets and a desk. I find the size very good but your elongated office is surely great too.

1. I do think you do need one. You don’t only have the shoes you’re currently wearing... 2. I totally agree! The tiny space under the stairs won’t be enough. I’d rather use that for a wardrobe!? In any case, more storage space needs to be created somewhere. Or is there a dressing room? Then you’d have to stuff everything in there. 3. I don’t see it as a luxury. I always wonder how people can do without it if they don’t have a basement. It’s a must for me. Just the many folders, writing materials, photo albums, etc. take up 2-3 cabinets. You can’t store all that somewhere else. 4. I also started out like that but quickly moved to the office. It’s much better working there.
