Yes, and above all: the keyword was "for the first time" - I NEVER walk around the apartment with a folding rule in everyday life. The previous apartment was even only 250 cm high, I never really noticed the 1 cm difference. At my godfather's in BaWü, it's even only 238 (and sometimes even 232) cm, without me ever having to duck my head there. So I can't make anything of all this talk about treating yourself to two-eighty and under two-sixty being virtually slum level. But I also have a shower where you step in the old-fashioned way instead of walking in - completely without daily self-pity because of it. And I also have roller shutters with manual strap operation. Fully retro - just like my year of construction.

Good that 1cm is not visible is clear. But 20 cm maybe is after all. I mean, that is the difference whether you can still fit a suitcase on a wardrobe of 2.35m height or just a few pictures for which you currently have no space. But I do agree with you, in everyday life you don’t notice it. The architect will be sad about that.

The architect commissioned by the GÜ, who also proposed the taller windows. But he took it in stride. He also said that with 225 high windows, you could go back to 250 LRH. He had suggested half a brick row higher, so about 260, could also be done and that would still look good with a 225 window height.

I need to sleep on it again. At the moment, the roller shutters are annoying me. GÜ refuses to install the windows so that I can mount external roller shutters flush with the facade itself. Either roller shutters mounted on top, with him for 800 / piece, or none at all (which means that I have to put external roller shutters on the facade). I think that looks ugly.

Now I have asked him to calculate what he can credit me if I remove the windows completely. He didn’t like that. He said that’s not important now, we have to finish the building application so as not to lose time, and we can talk about the roller shutters later during the execution planning.

But aren’t the window sizes relevant for the building application?

Room height 2.50m does not look good in a large living room, we had that before. 2.70m feels completely different, it gives a totally different sense of space.

Best regards
