And I think you should mark the (now no longer surface-mounted) drainage so that you also understand why the original draft was much better (because it was more clearly designed). You still lack - because you are not practiced - the ability to think in pipe routes. Catching up on this practice would be the way (to insight). If you try it yourself, you will be rewarded with the solution.

I don't necessarily think the result is a disaster now. The real problem, however, is that the OP doesn't know what she wants and, out of fear of missing out, would like to have everything. No matter how it is ultimately built, she will probably be unhappy because it wasn't another option. Today the kitchen by the terrace is great, tomorrow it is no longer important. Shower downstairs yes, shower downstairs no. Pantry yes, pantry no. Suddenly an office is needed and all bathrooms need walk-in showers.

The decision-making process of what one actually wants is not yet finished here. Some need 2 minutes for it and others 2 years. That is not bad, but one should have completed this process before starting to plan or even build.

It is also the question whether one can even know before the construction what one really wants and whether one will feel comfortable later. Often, you only see that when everything is finished. Most people have previously lived in an apartment, and that is all different again. There are no terraces, no neighbors within sight, etc. I think you can of course try to do everything right, but as soon as you plan something of your own and maybe move away from a model house that you may have seen and liked a lot, it can be that in the long run you don’t like it. But it’s like many things in life… even with a house you can’t have everything and have to make choices. Especially if you don’t have unlimited space available. Only some people cope better with what’s missing, and others worse. That’s why I don’t find it stupid at all that the OP is discussing it here in the forum. Maybe it is just as useful to look at even more model houses and see there what looks cramped, which projection might disturb, etc.

Yes, I have been in a process for a few months now. Something always bothered me and I didn’t know how to solve some things. I am very perfectionistic and fussy. Building a house is difficult for someone like me. I would have preferred to buy something existing, but we didn’t find anything. Then somehow I suddenly slipped into house building. Unexpectedly, we were able to buy a plot of land and took the opportunity.
Anyway, I already have the impression that I see things more clearly now.
Yes, you usually only build once and want it to be as perfect as possible, later regret as little as possible, and learn from others' mistakes. You are often blind yourself as well. That’s why I asked for opinions here and many have helped me a lot. I am very grateful for that. Yes, in the meantime, we got off track. But anyone who has been following from the beginning knows, for example, that I had a big problem with the sofa situation and I felt I didn’t have a good terrace exit option. That annoyed me for a very long time. That’s why, for example, the swap of kitchen and living room is the result of a decision-making process. And it feels so good. We just didn’t consider the drainage. We are clueless and don’t think in terms of pipes. But we are willing to compromise on rearranging the parents' area and kids' bathroom so that there is no pipe next to the sofa.
I am already quite satisfied like this. And thanks to the forum there were new decisions that we are sticking with and that are good. For example, more courage for bigger windows and especially a second window for the kids’ rooms!
Except for the washing machine and dryer now being on the ground floor and no cloakroom or wardrobe niche.
But you can’t have everything, right?
Otherwise, there would be a list of perfect floor plans.
Out of curiosity, I also looked into other threads. There are many floor plans there that seem messier. I don’t think mine is bad, since it’s clearer and not so convoluted. It’s a matter of taste.
But out of interest: have you ever seen floor plans where you just thought "wow" at the beginning or after improvement?
I have also tried googling for perfect floor plans. But the same floor plans of certain model houses keep repeating. The aha effect didn’t happen.

I would be happy if someone could magically create a laundry room for me or an elegant niche for the washing machine and dryer. Otherwise, I will have to go down to the ground floor. Probably worse things could happen. You can just take the laundry downstairs if you have to go down anyway.

A laundry chute might be interesting. But it bothers me that you can’t clean the pipe or how is the cleaning done?

And about the cloakroom: then I will probably have to put something in the hallway. Somehow, you just can’t have everything.
