It does not actually descale but reduces water hardness
Colloquially known as a "descaling system."

Windows can be cleaned with demineralized water.
Either you buy a resin cartridge, rods, brush... and do it yourself or hire a window cleaning company.
Reverse osmosis systems are only for professional use and have a high water loss. This is not the case with resin cartridges.
Osmosis water has a high cleaning performance and dries without residue after rinsing. The environment is not burdened by cleaning agents.

Hmm interesting. I was just skimming a bit. Is it then one of those ion exchanger things? Because there are various technical devices (humidifiers, for example) whose BDAs prohibit using demineralized water treated with ion exchangers. Do you know why? What can get damaged?

He mainly finds it stupid to block doors that could be opened. Of course, blocking fixed glazing is also not ideal. But we can both live with that. We do need light, and putting the sofa in the middle is not for us. The sofa position was a huge topic of discussion here. But now we are satisfied.

My partner thought the same at first. When I then told her that she could just place a plant shelf all the way to the floor, she was back in favor of floor-to-ceiling. Of course, that also works with fixed glazing.
However, an openable window can still be used for ventilation and for transporting bulky furniture.
You can also move a sofa temporarily...

Placing the sofa in the middle wouldn’t be for me either. But I think it fits like this. Yes, you’re right, a blocked door probably looks worse than blocked fixed glazing. The sofa does reduce the amount of light somewhat in this case, of course, but that will be fine.
