So what should I do now? Tell the general contractor that I need an Isokorb? So my husband spoke to two awning salesmen and they didn’t even ask about the wall thickness. They said to have the cables prepared and later we can come to them for the awning and then it will be attached to the wall with some special anchors. So should we look for better salesmen and emphasize that we are building with 36.5 cm aerated concrete?

Hello,

Awnings are definitely not my area of expertise. It is not impossible to attach the awning directly to the aerated concrete. Aerated concrete is statically the softest building material, which does not make things any easier. Surely, this is possible with the appropriate anchors and a sufficiently high quantity.

You should already clarify for yourselves at what height the thing should hang. Probably the height of the ceiling slab is already quite good for you. I can easily imagine that almost all awning manufacturers have a type statics for the fastening variant "awning on the front edge of the ceiling with added insulation."

OT: For example, we recently had a long discussion at work with a testing engineer who did not approve the fastening of a "small" suspended glass canopy with about 3x1.5m projection with fastening only to the 300 aerated concrete.

Our future neighbor is already quite far along. He is building a garage on his property line. Now he has informed us that the gutter would be 3-4cm on our property and is asking for permission before just doing it. What do you think about that? The gutter could be done differently, but supposedly it wouldn’t look nice – also for us when we look at his garage. No idea how to handle something like this. He’s the type anyway who doesn’t do everything strictly according to regulations. Like garden design and so on. It just annoys me.

Does it bother you if the gutter extends over to your side?

We have a large window facing the garage. It is already only 3m away. He could have built the garage a few centimeters narrower. Therefore, it annoys me on principle.

Hm I can understand that, that also annoys me. I think it makes no difference for the appearance. Didn't you want to grow something there anyway? Maybe you need something from the neighbor sometime, then you can remind him about the gutter
