Thank you for the new version! The living room is now only 4.4 m wide because of the built-in staircase, right? And does the staircase now have 2 landings or does it just look that way?
Because of the shower: I am thinking about old age. Later I could separate the living room into a bedroom and turn the dining area into a living room. And I could still shower downstairs. When I can no longer climb stairs. What do you think about that?
I still think the same about that as last month / last year ... Your generation will very likely build again near retirement instead of converting a newly built house.
In all the floor plans, there is no storage room. Where are the Christmas decorations, suitcases, outgrown children's stuff waiting for the next child supposed to go?
I already see boxes standing in the children's rooms and the dressing room.
All the floor plans lack storage rooms.
Where do the Christmas decorations, suitcases, and outgrown children’s stuff waiting for the next child go?
I can already see boxes standing in the children’s rooms and the dressing room here
We have a few square meters for that in the attic. And otherwise under the stairs in the storage room. But we also live rather minimally and I don’t hoard much. For example, no third child is planned and everything that is no longer needed over time I sell/give away/donate immediately.
Suitcases and Christmas stuff go to the attic, even if it’s inconvenient. But you don’t need those things often.
Are there already houses on your side of the street that you could use as a reference? Or are you the first ones building there with this slope?
I would generally agree with embankment first of all if a basement is not an option for you. In which region are you building? In some places, filling gravel is currently available at a low price because the gravel pit operators urgently need space for landfill (excavated soil).
Within what limits is embankment allowed and how far can it be done? You can model appropriate slopes from the terrace accordingly. As long as you only need an exit to the garden from the terrace, I don't see any major problems.
No, there isn’t a house yet. We are among the first to build... a basement is not an option. We are building in the Bergisches Land/NRW. I wanted to have the terrace in the dining area because it’s a shorter way from the kitchen. The garage would be further away. On the left side of the house. Would you be allowed to show a photo of your sister’s terrace/garden? Sounds good though. We would probably only make a path from the terrace to the garden. But I don’t know yet how. I want to embank. But I don’t really understand it yet. You can apparently set the house as high as you want, but the garden is probably not allowed, only with the neighbors' permission who knows when will build. On the left and right, you are apparently only allowed to embank to a limited extent.
